Through the mentor program:

IAC will develop a support system for LGBT youth who have no one to turn to in a time of crisis.

IAC will establish a forum for parents and friends of LGBT youth to discuss their unique questions and concerns and create better understanding of the LGBT experience.

IAC will encourage all LGBT individuals to come out, to share their stories and finally put an end to any shame that exists around being LGBT.

IAC will bolster self-esteem in LGBT youth and encourage them to make wiser, more informed choices when it comes to safe sex practices.

IAC will organize a global network where recovering substance abusers can share their stories and become mentors to other LGBT members who are dealing with similar struggles.

I Am Collective will awaken the hero in each of us.

The technology is easy. We show users how to record themselves using a video camera or web cam. Their statements are then uploaded onto the internet. We monitor the videos on the site and combine them with IAC-produced content. These individual journeys of self-discovery will serve as guideposts for others along a similar path.
